COMMUNITY DANCE: NOVEMBER 13
Please join us for a community dance.
Date: November 13
Time: 8 - 11 P.M.
Place: Crescent Ft. Rouge United Church (Wardlaw and Nassau).
Basement gymnasium
Cost: $5.00
The dance will be an equal mixture of English Country, International, and other. The "other" will include such dance styles as French-Canadian, Irish country and squares, and Jewish squares.
We will be asking for volunteers for all aspects of the evening from the dance and music,
to providing the refreshments.
The idea of a "community dance" comes out of the experiences of Village Green and MIFDA with joint events, particularly last year's David Millstone workshop, where we enjoyed the energy and camaraderie of being part of a larger dance community. We would like to see if we can build on this experience by holding dances that involve interested members of our two groups along with others. For this dance evening, we are contacting, particularly, participants in the recent Irish dance workshop and Les Danseurs. In time, it should be possible to reach beyond the existing dance communities and attract new dancers.
